Find out below how to increase the value of your donation by 25% at no extra cost.
If you are a UK taxpayer, the Gift Aid scheme allows Take Her Lead to reclaim basic rate tax on your donation.
This means that for every £1 you give, we can claim an additional 25p from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), making your donation worth even more to us at no extra cost to you.
The Gift Aid scheme helps raise even more money for our programmes and research.
If someone donated £300 to us, we could claim an extra £75 in Gift Aid.
That £300 would enable us to train a THL Champion, and the extra £75 would pay for three young players to attend a THL Champion Session.
To apply Gift Aid to your donations, you must be a UK taxpayer and pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the tax that all your donations to any charity.
Taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify.
There are two ways to add Gift Aid, depending on how you made your donation:
Donating via our website
As part of the donation form on our website, you'll be asked whether you'd like to add Gift Aid. Simply tick the Gift Aid box and complete the declaration before submitting your donation.
Donating via Paypal or Instagram
If you donated through PayPal (including donations made via Instagram), look for your donation receipt email titled "You donated to benefit Take Her Lead" and click "Add Gift Aid" to complete your Gift Aid declaration.
You can still claim Gift Aid on your donations if you're retired, provided you pay enough UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax during the tax year to cover the Gift Aid claimed on your donations.
If your income comes solely from a pension and you don't pay Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax, you won't be eligible to add Gift Aid to your donation.
If you pay Income Tax at the higher rate or additional rate (40% or above), you can claim the difference between the basic rate and your higher rate on the total value of your Gift Aid donation.
